Intended Use
ASO-LT is an in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of antistreptolysin O (ASO) titer in serum.
Method

Special Characteristics
ASO-LT based on Latex immunoassay method is not interfered significantly by other serum components. The measurable range without dilution of samples is 2.1-1000 IU/mL.
Principle of the Method
When a sample is mixed with Buffer and Latex Reagent, ASO in the sample combines specifically with the latex sensitized with streptolysin O in the Latex Reagent to yield an insoluble aggregate which causes increased turbidity in the solution. The degree of turbidity of solution can be measured optically and is proportional to the concentration of ASO in the patient's sample.
