Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
L-Type AST.J2For In Vitro Diagnostic Use
Intended Use
L-Type AST.J2 is an in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of the activity of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in serum or plasma.
Method
JSCC Transferable Method
Special Characteristics
L-Type AST.J2 is a liquid reagent which improves the stable formation of coenzyme.
Principle of the Method
When a sample is mixed with Substrate-Enzyme and α-KG, glutamate and oxaloacetate are formed from L-aspartate and α-ketoglutarate in a reaction catalyzed by AST in the sample. The oxaloacetate thus produced is converted to malate by malate dehydrogenase (MDH) and at the same time, NADH is oxidized to NAD. By measuring the decrease in absorbance at 340 nm due to the oxidation of NADH, AST activity in the sample is determined.
