Total Bilirubin (T-Bil)
Total Bilirubin E-HAFor In Vitro Diagnostic Use
Intended Use
Total Bilirubin E-HA is an in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of total bilirubin in serum or plasma.
Method
Vanadate oxidation method
Special Characteristics
Total Bilirubin E-HA is not interfered significantly by other serum components and hemoglobin (up to 500 mg/dL). This reagent is highly precise, stable and a convenient ready-to-use liquid reagent, utilizing vanadate as oxidizing agent.
Principle of the Method
When a sample is mixed with the reagent containing the metavanadate at around pH 3, total bilirubin in the sample is oxidized to biliverdine. Then the absorbance of yellow specific to bilirubin decreases. Therefore, the total bilirubin concentration in the sample can be obtained by measuring the absorbance before and after the metavanadate oxidation.
Standard Procedure
Application to automated analyzers and Package are available upon request
