Glucose (Glu)
L-Type Glu 2For In Vitro Diagnostic Use
Intended Use
L-Type Glu 2 is an in vitro assay for the quantitative determination of glucose in serum, plasma or urine.
Method
Hexokinase G-6-PDH Method
Special Characteristics
L-Type Glu 2 based on Hexokinase G-6-PDH method is not interfered significantly by other serum components. This is a liquid type reagent which is stable designed for general biochemical automated analyzers.
Principle of the Method
When a sample is mixed with the reagents, glucose in the sample and adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) are converted to glucose-6-phosphate (G-6-P) and adenosine 5'-diphosphate (ADP) by the reaction of hexokinase (HK). The G-6-P produced in this way is oxidized to 6-phophogluconate in a reaction by glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PDH) in which β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide oxidized form (NAD) is reduced to NADH. The glucose concentration is obtained by measuring the absorbance of the NADH.
